The four-year old Green Mountain Project have made somewhat of a specialty of Monteverdi's Vespers, and their recent performance at New York city’s Church of St Jean Baptiste proved again that they are worthy of their chosen name.
There is much to enjoy in the Met’s revival of its almost 40 year old production of Bellini’s I Puritani although almost none of it is visual, with Olga Peretyatko and Lawrence Brownlee both fitting the bill.

Andrea Chénier can seem more a series of scenes than a dramatic whole and it relies on exciting, charismatic luminaries to hold it together and keep the interest high. This revival of Nicolas Joël’s staging is a noble effort, but disappoints.
