Award-winning composer Ørjan Matre's “…yet from those flames no light…” was commissioned by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra with support from Arts Council Norway.

This piece is scored for harp and orchestra, but half of the orchestra is not visible during the performance. The soloist is surrounded on stage by cellos, basses and three groups of winds/percussion while the rest of the orchestra (and the conductor) are placed offstage. The piece takes its title and concept from the opening of John Milton's Paradise Lost.

Watch its world-premiere performed by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Edward Gardner.

Filmed in December 2015.
