Watch Barbara Hannigan sing and conduct these two beautiful works as a connected piece, together with the Gothenburg Symphony.

Composer Luigi Nono wrote Djamila Boupacha in 1962, part of his Canti di vita e d'amore. It is inspired by the life of a former militant from the Algerian National Liberation Front.
The Symphony no. 49 in F minor was written in 1768 by Joseph Haydn during his Sturm und Drang period. It is popularly known as “La passione”.
