Elbphilharmonie: Großer SaalPlatz der Deutschen Einheit, Hamburg, 20457, Germany
On Wednesday 4 December 2019 at 20:00

The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under its chief conductor Paavo Järvi has garnered well-deserved awards for its masterly readings of Beethoven and Schumann, and they have now shown their mettle again with Brahms: in 2018 the orchestra won the Opus Klassik prize for the first release in their complete recording of the Brahms symphonies. The Bremen-based musicians are no less refreshing and thrilling when they turn their attention to Brahms's piano works, as they demonstrate tonight together with star pianist Igor Levit, who sees the orchestra as a perfect partner. In tonight's concert, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen follows Brahms with a composer he admired greatly: Haydn and his famous Drumroll Symphony.
