The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra

The orchestra organises a diverse concert program in The Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and is a welcome guest on foreign stages and festivals. The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra brings classical music to life at the highest level and collaborates closely with international guest soloists and conductors. It takes great pleasure in welcoming and developing new musical talent. Marc Albrecht was the chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Netherlands Chamber Orchestra between 2011 and 2020; Lorenzo Viotti will succeed him in that position from season 2020/2021 and onwards.

Inviting programming

Two of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra’s most important trademarks are its inviting programming and its accessible concert presentation. Everyone is welcome to a Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra concert, both experienced concert-goers and newcomers alike. The musicians guarantee an exceptional listening experience thanks to the enthusiasm with which they share their passion for music with the audience. The orchestra’s concerts also form the basis for related events, including opportunities for audience members to meet soloists and orchestral performers. The orchestra strongly believes that music connects people. Therefore its mission is to help make classical music accessible to everyone.
