The Netherlands Wind Ensemble (NBE) yearns, whispers, weeps, and deeply moves audiences with the strong women of Hector Berlioz, the eccentric French composer. His revolutionary Symphonie fantastique – a whirlwind of obsession, madness, jealousy, and murder – revolves around a strong, unreachable woman. And in La mort de Cléopâtre, the fearless Cleopatra chooses suicide over imprisonment, thus taking control of her own faith.

Berlioz’s masterfully orchestrated compositions have been adapted for the NBE into a spectacular wind arrangement. The result is an expressive performance, full of drama, desire and tragedy.
