Sir Stephen Hough plays Beethoven and Omer Meir Wellber play/directs from the Harpsichord.
Beethoven had a stormy relationship with his teacher Haydn, but they both admired each other’s music. And no wonder, when it’s as powerful as Haydn’s Nelson Mass - a gripping showcase for our superb CBSO Chorus. How to match that? Well, how about dazzling piano virtuoso Sir Stephen Hough, making a very welcome return in Beethoven’s darkest piano concerto (listen out for his reimagining of the second movement).
