Sungho Kim won audience hearts as well as the coveted Song Prize at the 2023 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, thanks not least to his spellbinding performance of Soungtai Kim’s The Grass of the Same Heart. The South Korean tenor sets it in company with Beethoven’s Op. 98, the first of the great Romantic song cycles, and Dichterliebe, Schumann’s sublime meditation on the nature of love.
