With more than 500 million album streams and a reputation as one of today’s most compelling classical performers, German-Japanese pianist Alice Sara Ott brings both brilliance and forward-thinking artistry to the concert stage.
Renowned for her imaginative programming and expressive clarity, Ott approaches music with a fresh perspective, connecting works across time through atmosphere, character, and emotional flow.
In this programme, she pairs works from her latest release on Deutsche Grammophon – the complete nocturnes of John Field – with three of Beethoven’s most introspective sonatas, including the enduring Moonlight, with its luminous opening which has captivated listeners for generations.
The result is a performance that moves between stillness and storm, light and shadow, revealing how these composers, across generations, reached for the poetic and profound in equal measure.
