Celebrate the return of the Galilee Chamber Orchestra, the first professional orchestra comprising both Arab and Jewish musicians in Israel. The ensemble’s 2022 Carnegie Hall debut, also led by Saleem Abboud-Ashkar, was called “fresh and energetic … impressive” (New York Classical Review). They’re joined by pianist Bruce Liu—one of the most exciting players to emerge in recent years—for Mozart’s lyrically rich yet musically intimate Piano Concerto No. 23. The orchestra also performs Felix Mendelssohn’s evocative “Scottish” Symphony, whose vibrant colors and folk melodies are inspired by the composer’s storied walking tour of the country.
