Exceptional young talents showcase their skills with unusual repertoire: Rimsky-Korsakov's passionate piano concerto and the world premiere of a tuba concerto by Lauri Porra bring a breath of fresh air to the concert format. Paganini's “Sonata Napoleone” harks back to the orchestra's founding period, before Prokofiev's “Romeo and Juliet” suite closes with great dramatic breath.
