Icelandic music is rarely heard in concert programs, but Maria Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir is one of the composers whose works are performed around the world.
In Schumann's introverted and meditative cello concerto, there is something captivating about the melancholic solo melodies in the low registers of the cello.
Sibelius's First Symphony, on the other hand, is full of energy.
