‘Kholodenko plays with intelligent virtuosity and youthful fire’ The Guardian

Vadym Kholodenko is one of the most inspiring young pianists performing today, renowned for his individual interpretations, acute musical mind and extraordinary virtuosity. Winner of the 2013 Van Cliburn Competition, Vadym has since established a worldwide reputation as a uniquely gifted musician.

For this Kings Place debut recital he has chosen a wide-ranging programme centred around four of the best-loved of all pianist composers.

Two fascinating and intense sets of variations by Rachmaninov and Mendelssohn form the centrepiece of the programme, followed by a selection from Isaac Albeniz’ Iberia suite, a thrilling pianistic tribute to the folk music and atmosphere of Spain.

The recital opens with one of the most iconic of all Beethoven Sonatas; the haunting, visceral Moonlight.

This event is part of the London Piano Festival at Kings Place.
