Wann darf ich klatschen? – Daniel Hope

ZKO HausSeefeldstrasse 305, Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland
Dates/times in Zurich time zone

Why do orchestra musicians usually play in tails? Why are the instruments tuned at the beginning of a concert and why, of all things, according to the oboe note? And when are you allowed to gossip? Music Director Daniel Hope answers these and other questions together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra in this concert, which is primarily intended to take away the shyness of attending a concert for those new to classical music. Because, as Hope states at the beginning: If it is not possible to find the audience of tomorrow, the concert business as we know it will probably soon die out.

A nightmare vision for Daniel Hope, who loves nothing so much as concerts: you have to experience it at least once. You simply have to be there when, through instruments made of wood and metal and signs and lines on music paper, sounds suddenly burst forth like an explosion. It's like magic, like magical powers are at work!
