Festival: St Albans International Organ Festival

Welcome to the 30th St Albans International Organ Festival – a full two weeks of exciting events celebrating organ music and much more, across the beautiful city of St Albans and beyond.

This year's Festival is dedicated to the lives of Peter and Pat Hurford, with gratitude and affection.

Thanks to a valuable partnership with St Albans City and District Council, the vibrant IOFringe brings free events to everyone – brimming with fun, activity and music for all tastes and all ages.

Our rich programme of solo and ensemble music features internationally renowned artists and inspirational stars of the future, in magnificent and historic buildings around the city. Large-scale events include our ever-popular Three Choirs concert; a celebration of the music of Howard Blake; and TS Eliot’s Four Quartets read by Simon Callow, alongside Beethoven’s great opus 132. We present performances by distinguished soprano Catherine Wyn-Rogers and international early music ensemble Il Pegaso. St James’ Baroque accompany our Interpretation Finalists in the Concerto Final, one of many performances which will take place in our city’s incomparable Cathedral.

The glorious 14th-century Kingsbury Barn once again hosts a popular Art Exhibition, and Lussmann’s presents live jazz.

At the heart of the festival, of course, are the renowned Organ Competitions. We welcome pre-selected competitors and visitors from all corners of the globe – together with our distinguished jury members, who all give their own recitals.

We look forward to welcoming you at this friendliest of festivals!

David Titterington, Artistic Director
