Festival: Baroque at the Edge

Biography

The no-rules early music festival

Imagine if Bach was a jazzman, Vivaldi a folk-fiddler, or Handel a minimalist. The brand-new Baroque at the Edge Festival invites adventurous musicians ranging from classical to world, jazz and folk to take the music of the Baroque and see where it leads them.

There are no rules, no programme notes and no lectures: all you need to know is how to listen.

Artists include Joanna MacGregor (piano), Paolo Pandolfo (viola da gamba), Tabea Debus (recorder) & Alex McCartney (theorbo), The Marian Consort, Thomas Dunford (lute) & Keyvan Chemirani (zarb), Bjarte Eike (violin) & Jon Balke (keyboards). Expect the unexpected!
