Biography
Alexandre Jung, Conductor
Alexandre Jung, Conductor

Conductor Alexandre Jung began to learn conducting from the age of 16 in the Conservatory of Strasbourg. From that moment on, driven by a growing passion, he has never stopped improving in this field; first in the Conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette with Alain Crepin, before starting advanced studies in conducting at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris with Dominique Rouits.

He graduated in conducting, clarinet, chamber music, writing and orchestration. In 2007, at 24, he was nominated, through a selective competition, as principal conductor of the French National Police Orchestra. Since then, while pursuing his commitment to develop wind orchestras, he has deepened his symphonic and operatic activities internationally around a repertoire ranging from the music of the 18th century to contemporary creations. He has perfected his technique with conductors such as Claire Gibault, Franck Fontcouberte and Kenneth Kiesler. In 2015, he was one of the 20 finalists of the 54th International Competition for Young Conductors in Besançon.

Alexandre Jung conducted orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Opera de Massy, The United Strings of Europe and Berlin Sinfonietta. In parallel with his career as a conductor, since 2010, he has worked as director in the Conservatory of Saverne.
