Performer: Francesco Valero Terribas

Biography

Spanish conductor Francisco Valero-Terribas has been rated as "one of the most interesting young conductors in last years; a true revelation” after his participation in some of the most important conducting contests and festivals.

His appearances with leading orchestras include Bari Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, North Czech Philharmonic, Festival Strings Lucerne, BMS Rio de Janeiro, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra California, Filarmonica de Stat Transilvania, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, and the World Youth Orchestra.

He obtained a degree in Orchestral Direction at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia and then studied orchestral conducting in some of the most important academies and universities of Europe with great teachers such as Kurt Masur, Bernard Haitink, David Zinman, Jesus López-Cobos, Marin Alsop, and Paavo and Neeme Järvi.

He has been mentored by Isaac Karabtchevsky, Bernard Haitink, Yoel Levi and Jesús López-Cobos, collaborating as assistant conductor in some opera and symphonic productions. He has been Assistant Conductor at the Palau de les Arts Opera House and Musical Director at the Contemporary Music Academy in the National Youth Orchestra of Spain. He was personally invited by Lorin Maazel to become Resident Conductor for the Castleton Festival in the USA.
