At home: Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra

Having celebrated their 250th anniversary in 2015, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the oldest orchestras in the world. Norway's most famous composer Edvard Grieg was at the helm of the orchestra as its Music Director in 1880 to 1882 and he still occupies a special spot at the heart of the Bergen Phil. Today, the role of Chief Conductor is held by Briton Edward Gardner, who took over the position from Andrew Litton during the anniversary year in 2015. Gardner seeks to tour internationally with the orchestra and to increase its recordings.

Since 2015-16 the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra streams about 10 concerts per season live from the Grieghallen in Bergen, and you can watch them all on Bachtrack At Home.
