On demand: Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 20

Bergen Philharmonic OrchestraRecorded at Grieg Hall (Grieghallen), Bergen, Norway

Watch Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 20 performed by Norwegian pianist and conductor Leif Ove Andsnes with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.

This piano concerto was first performed in Vienna in 1785, as we know from a glowing report from Mozart's father, who was in the audience and wrote about it in a letter to his daughter. Apparently the concert was finished last-second, as just moments before the performance a copier was still at work. And when he heard it played again, just a few days later, he cried with joy, as he found it so beautiful.

Filmed in October 2015.

And if you agree with Leopold and love this piece, watch it again as performed by German pianist Christian Zacharias and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
