On demand: Stravinsky's Funeral Song

Bergen Philharmonic OrchestraRecorded at Grieg Hall (Grieghallen), Bergen, Norway

Stravinsky’s doom-laden Funeral Song, lost for over a century and only re-discovered in 2016 at a music library in St Petersburg, was written for a memorial concert for his teacher Rimsky-Korsakov. This piece has been called the missing link between Feu d’Artifice and The Firebird.

Watch it here performed by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Edward Gardner.

Filmed in September 2017.
