Guide to Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti”

Biography

The Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” of Martina Franca is promoted and organised by the Fondazione Paolo Grassi in collaboration with the Festival della Valle d’Itria. It was founded in 2010 to provide young opera singers with high education in the different aspects of technique, style, and performance of Italian Belcanto (from Monteverdi to proto-Romanticism), including the analysis and practice of several other aspects of Western music theatre such as some of the most modern music expressions.

Applications

First phase is articulated on the basis of qualifications and recordings to be sent by the 15th February (by 12pm).

Second phase is dedicated to those candidates who have passed the first phase, and it entails a live audition held either at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan (27 February), at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin (29 February), or at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari (9 March).

The list of accepted candidates will be published by the 30th March 2020.

To access the courses, students must pass the preliminary pre-selection test on the basis of qualifications and video recordings. The live audition test is reserved exclusively for those candidates who have passed the pre-selection test.
