Superstar pianist Lang Lang joins the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as soloist in Grieg’s beloved, sole concerto. Lang Lang has performed this virtuosic concert staple with top orchestras worldwide—including in his 2001 Carnegie Hall debut—and he now brings it back to our stage as part of his ongoing Perspectives series. The concert also features Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1, which this ensemble performed at Carnegie Hall in the work’s New York premiere in 1907. A contemporary New York premiere by Finnish composer Outi Tarkiainen completes the program.
