Schubert, Franz (1797-1828) | Piano Sonata no. 19 in C minor, D.958 | |
Brahms, Johannes (1833-1897) | Klavierstücke: selection |
Piotr Anderszewski | Piano |
One of today’s most beloved pianists returns to the Muziekgebouw: Piotr Anderszewski. In 2024, he received an Edison in the category Soloist Instrumental for his CD Bartók, Janáček, Szymanowski. That same year, he played much of that repertoire impressively at the Muziekgebouw. He is now back with Brahms’ late Klavierstücke, among other works.
Anderszewski, a frequent guest in the Muziekgebouw’s Piano Series, has consistently impressed audiences. His internationally acclaimed interpretation of Brahms’ Klavierstücke makes this concert a promising event. The Guardian wrote in a five-star review about the performance of his selection of Brahms’ opus 116 to 119: ‘He treats each Intermezzo as if it were a jewel.’ A late Schubert sonata is also in good hands with Anderszewski.
