Cancelled: Francesco Piemontesi & Friends

Haakon's Hall (Håkonshallen)Bergenhus Festning, Bergen, Hordaland, 5835, Norway
On Sunday 31 May 2020 at 19:30
Festival: Bergen International Festival

Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi is a new mentor in the festival’s mentoring program Crescendo, which connects classical musicians at the start of their career with experienced artists. After an intense rehearsal period, the performers stand together on the stage in a musical partnership.

The sought-after pianist has an admirable and expressive playing style, which, combined with great musical imagination and virtuosity, makes him a perfect mentor for young, talented musicians.

The Crescendo musicians at this concert in Håkonshallen are violinist Sonoko Miriam Welde, violinist Ludvig Gudim, viola player Eivind Holstmark Ringstad and cellist Sandra Lied Haga. The programme consists of Robert Schumann's Three Fantasy Pieces for Cello and Piano and Johannes Brahms' Piano Quintet in F minor, often called the crown of Brahms chamber music.

Francesco Piemontesi will also perform a solo concert at Troldhaugen. You can also meet the young Crescendo musicians at concerts with James Ehnes & Andrew Armstrong, Nicolas Alstaedt and Tanja Zapolski.
