The Concert
An irresistible, intimate triple-bill of Mozart – a chance to hear three of his lesser-performed concertos, each one as beautiful, refined and vibrant as anything he composed.
The Music
Mozart was just 18 when he wrote his only Bassoon Concerto, packed with youthful high-jinks and featuring an Andante of heart-melting loveliness.
The Third Horn Concerto features Mozart at his most down-to-earth, from its charming opening movement to the gentle exuberance of the final hunting-call inspired finale.
The Sinfonia Concertante is often regarded as one of Mozart’s finest concertos for strings, with its spellbinding interplay between solo violin and viola.
The Performers
The LSO appears in smaller, chamber form – and with each of the soloists coming from the ranks of the Orchestra itself. Conductor Jaime Martín lead the ensemble in an acclaimed set of Mozart concertos in 2019 and returns to LSO St Luke’s for this much-anticipated second instalment.
