Bruch’s Eight Pieces is a collection of beautiful miniatures composed with his twenty-five-year-old son Max Felix (who was just starting his career as a professional clarinetist) in mind. The works are filled with delicate harmonies and intimate significance: you’ll hear a selection of the best this evening. Chaminade’s Piano Trio No. 2 unfolds across three movements with delicate song-like melodies offering a rich interplay between instruments. Brahms’ radiant and romantic Piano Trio No.2 in C Major completes the line-up.
