At just 20, British pianist George Harliono is already an experienced recitalist, having made his debut when he was just nine years old. His programme explores the emotional development of piano music, beginning with Haydn’s Sonata in E, which demonstrated the possibilities of the new fortepiano. One of Brahms’s best-loved works, the Intermezzo in A is full of tender feelings and passionate memories. The young Robert Schumann composed his studies on a theme by Baron von Fricken, and the wealth and complexity of their colours are truly symphonic in scale.

Each concert lasts an hour. Tickets are £12, including tea, coffee and cake.
