Amidst the repertory of rare choral treasures lies one jewel which evokes excited praise from choral enthusiasts: the 65-minute Requiem by Russian-Polish composer Osip Kozlovsky (1757 – 1831), a masterwork that has been praised alongside the revered counterparts by Mozart and Verdi.
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Chorus led by Music Director Hans Graf presents this Asian premiere, preceded by Mozart’s “little G minor symphony”, made famous by the opening of the film, Amadeus.
