Bach’s St Matthew Passion is one of the towering masterpieces of Western art. Moments of deep introspection combine with jubilant choruses and exquisite arias to create a work that is both uplifting and profoundly moving. This performance features a stellar cast led by Nicholas Mulroy, alongside the incomparable Roderick Williams as Christus. Jacqueline Shave directs Britten Sinfonia and the orchestra’s acclaimed professional vocal ensemble, Britten Sinfonia Voices, from the violin.
