Yamada: Brahms and Schumann

MapWish list
Birmingham Symphony HallBroad Street, Birmingham, West Midlands, B1, United Kingdom
On Wednesday 22 January 2020 at 19:30

A horn calls in the twilight; the piano responds, and Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto is on its way – 50 minutes of poetry, passion, and star-crossed romance. It’s ideal for the young Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi, and Kazuki Yamada has found the perfect pairing: the symphony that Brahms’ friend Schumann wrote in homage to his wife Clara, the love of both composers’ lives.

CBSO+ 6pm: CBSO Principal Guest Conductor Kazuki Yamada is interviewed by Margaret Cookhorn – Principal Contrabassoon.

Please note the pre-concert talk will now start at 6pm, 15 minutes earlier than previously advertised, due to the Making an Entrance redevelopments. You will be asked to show your ticket for access into the pre-concert talk, and then invited to take your seat for the concert immediately after the talk concludes. Times of talks will be listed on the concert pages of the CBSO and THSH’s websites in advance, please check before making travel plans.
