The iconic animated film of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, with music by Howard Blake, has been a Christmas TV favourite since its première in 1982. As part of their award-winning #LMPOnTheMove series, Fairfield Halls’ resident orchestra London Mozart Players will perform the full orchestral score live-to-picture on a big screen in the Phoenix Concert Hall, in a pre-Christmas treat that’s perfect for the whole family.

The programme includes a magical retelling in words and music of Hoffman’s original 1816 fairy tale The Nutcracker. Actor Tama Matheson will bring the enchanting story of Clara, the Nutcracker and the fight with the Mouse King in the Kingdom of Sweets to life with Tchaikovsky’s beloved score as a musical backdrop. The story will be presented alongside stunning artwork animations created by art students from Riddlesdown School.

There’s no better way to get in the mood for the festive season!
