Brahm's Symphony No. 2

Meyerson Symphony CenterDallas, Texas, 75201, United States
April 09, 10, 11 at 19:30

In Brahms’s genial Second Symphony — sometimes referred to as his “Pastoral” — splendid horn calls open the work, and cascades of melodies and dance-like passages enchant the ear, with the festive finale driving home the symphony with orchestral brass ablaze. Artist-in-Residence James Ehnes solos in Elgar’s noble and stirring Violin Concerto, a glorious blend of rhapsodic melodies and elegiac passages.

“A violinist in a class of his own.”
The Times (London)
