Hopkinson Smith | Lute |
In his Libro del cortigiano (The Book of the Courtier), Castiglione explains that the exemplary courtier is not only a good hunter and soldier, but also a perfect dancer, speaker and, if possible, lutenist. Hopkinson Smith plays music by Castiglione's contemporaries Spinacino and Dalza from the very first lute anthologies printed in Italy and France. Great master Smith flawlessly fills in the loose ends, missing pages and unwritten ornamentation.
