Michel Lambert's Leçons de ténèbres were originally performed by three singers. Festival resident Marc Mauillon does it all on his own, with a voice that can handle both tenor and baritone registers. The theorbo and viola da gamba make the craftsmanship of Lambert's colleague Nicolas Hotman resound: in this last concert of the trilogy his instrumental works alternate with the Leçons and the Gregorian responsoria.
