L.A. Dance Project interprète Martha Graham, William Forsythe, Justin Peck et Benjamin Millepied

Benjamin Millepied's Romeo & Juliet Suite for LA Dance Project, to Prokofiev sliced and diced, has arrived in New York. Stunningly staged, with a puzzling shortage of characters. 

Pierre Boulez’ Rituel in memoriam Bruno Maderna is choreograped by Benjamin Millepied for a New York Philharmonic performance, led by Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Alexei Ratmansky and Justin Peck are all the more impressive among choreographers working today because of how many of their works seem destined to stay in the repertoire for a long time to come.

From the ethereal to the galavanting, the program offered a spectrun of emotions delivered with precise technique and abandoned energy. 

There is some good dancing in Benjamin Millepied's I Felt the Earth Move but it missed the mark as far as emotional content is concerned.
