Pianiste invité des Déconcertants, et désormais directeur artistique de l'ensemble, il assure à Paris la recréation française du Concerto pour piano et cordes d’Alfred Schnittke. Julien collabore également avec Diapason magazine, Jeanine Roze Production, et France Musique, pour lequel il a été producteur de l'émission "été classique" au mois de juillet.
