One would never had guessed that the Ébènes had not played Shostakovich's dark Eighth String Quartet before this tour, such was the way their performance transcended individual agony to address human despair in general.

Julien Hanck

Âgé de vingt-trois ans, Julien Hanck suit un parcours atypique. Ce n’est qu’après ses classes préparatoires en mathématiques au lycée Louis-le-Grand qu’il se tourne entièrement vers la musique. Parallèlement à ses études d'ingénieur à l'ESPCI et à son activité au sein de l'association "Le Cercle des Mélomanes" dont il est le fondateur, il joue régulièrement en soliste et en musique de chambre. Pianiste invité des Déconcertants, et désormais directeur artistique de l'ensemble, il assure à Paris la recréation française du Concerto pour piano et cordes d’Alfred Schnittke. Julien collabore également avec Diapason magazine, Jeanine Roze Production, et France Musique, pour lequel il a été producteur de l'émission "été classique" au mois de juillet.
