|If we shadows have offended|
|Stine Sjøgren||Costume Designer|
In this theatre and dance performance by the Norwegian Alan Lucien Øyen, the dancers excel as actors in a touching story about nostalgia, being lost and the consequences of not wanting to grow up. The creation takes inspiration from both the Peter Pan syndrome and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Peter Pan’s Tinkerbell asks us to clap our hands to believe, and Shakespeare’s Puck asks us to do the same – to turn all that happened into a dream. We may pretend, but memories will always catch up in the end.
If we shadows have offended was created for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, and had its world premiere in the spring of 2015.
