| Debussy, Claude (1862-1918) | Rêverie |
| Hanni Liang | Klavier |
What are your memories about? What can you remember? Starting from Claude Debussy’s Rêverie, Hanni Liang will create a unique concert experience where your memories shape the entire performance. Through drawing or writing, your memories will be transformed into a musical extension of the original work. This immersive experience invites you to actively take part in the collective creative process.
The interactive concert is based on the musical piece Rêverie by Claude Debussy. What if the original work by Debussy doesn’t end with the double bar line, but is an ongoing work which is inspired and influenced by the audience themselves?
This concert creates a space for individual music experiences that are created by and through the memories of the listeners, opening an immersive visual as well as auditive environment. While the audience is invited to share their memories on two prepared iPads, by writing or scribbling, the process is projected in real-time in the room. As each story unfolds, the music – starting from Rêverie – responds improvisationally to the narrative and slowly changing the piece by Debussy and creating a new collective work for this moment.
Once the sharing is finished, the music returns to Rêverie – and what remains is just a fading memory.
This event will last approximately 75 minutes, with no interval.
