Festspiel: Händel Festival Halle

Introductory talk: Dr. Erik Dremel, Theological Faculty of Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg // 5pm // Handel House, Glass Hall // Admission free – unnumbered seating (duration: 30 min. approx.) (in German)

With its magnificent choruses and opulent orchestral setting, the oratorio Israel in Egypt is, like the Messiah, highly respected and one of the best-known and most popular oratorios of the Halle-born composer, G. F. Handel. With his choir and orchestra, Capella Cracoviensis, the conductor Jan Tomasz Adamus, who already delighted audiences in Halle in 2014 and 2015, presents his perspective on this famous choral oratorio. Based in Cracow, the musicians are welcome guests all over Europe, for example in Prague, where they recently presented a concert programme, at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam where they performed the Handel oratorio Judas Maccabaeus, or Theater an der Wien, where they appeared in 2016.
