The Brass Ensemble of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra plays English and American chorales from the 19th century; solemn and soothing music composed to edify the population. This rich brass tradition, then at the top of its popularity, is complemented by traditional Swedish folk music that lie deep in the hearts of people: Kristallen den fina (“The Beautiful Crystal”), a folk song about love and longing.
