Miroslav Petkov is solo trumpeter at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. In addition to classical music, the versatile musician is also at home in other musical styles, from folk music to free improvisation and jazz. In this concert, Petkov invites his potential successors to the stage. They are the most talented young brass players from across the Netherlands, who together form the National Youth Brass Band.
‘I look forward to meeting these eager young musicians. We already know they play well, but how will they handle the irregular rhythms of the Balkans? I can’t wait to find out,’ says Petkov. This concert promises to be the most joyful and boisterous programme of the series!
