About the venue

Inaugurated on 20 June 1998, the Auditorium of Dijon is the result of the collective work of the architectural firms Arquitectonica (Miami) and Bougeault–Walgenwitz (Dijon), assisted by Richard Martinet (Paris). The hall’s acoustics are among the most beautiful of Europe, making it an ideal location for the major international orchestras and conductors to work. Its modern technical installations make it a state-of-the-art production facility for the lyric arts, theatre and dance – a function that it has adopted in collaboration with the Grand Theatre since the creation of Duo Dijon in 2002. The Auditorium is located at Place Jean Bouhey, 21000 Dijon and it can accommodate up to 1,611 people, spread across the orchestra section, two balconies, and side balconies.

Disabled access

The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has 20 wheelchair spaces. Additional assistance can also be provided if required. An induction loop is available upon request to amplify the sound during performances for visitors who use hearing aids. People with disabilities are entitled to a 50% discount on the full ticket price. This discount also applies to one accompanying person, upon presentation of a valid Carte Mobilité Inclusion. To benefit from the available assistance services, visitors must inform the Box Office when booking their tickets. The ticket office can be contacted by phone at 03 80 48 82 82 (Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), by email at billetterie@opera-dijon.fr, or in person at 18 Boulevard de Verdun, 21000 Dijon.

Dress code

There is no dress code for attending a performance at the Auditorium, so visitors are free to dress as they wish. The auditorium is also air-conditioned to ensure a comfortable experience throughout the show.

How to get there?

There are several ways to get to the Auditorium. You can take the Flexo 40 bus and get off at the Auditorium stop, or take the T1 tram, which also stops at Auditorium. A Divia bike-sharing station is also located directly outside the venue.

Car parking

If you are traveling by car, you can park in the outdoor car park opposite the artists’ entrance at 11 Boulevard de Verdun. Another option is the Clémenceau car park, whose entrance is located on Place Jean Bouhey.

Children’s facilities

For some performances, activities are also available for children. While parents attend the performance, children can discover a performing art connected to the production, led by specialized instructors.

Food & drink

The Auditorium Bar welcomes visitors one hour before the performance begins and during intermissions. You can order your refreshments when you arrive and collect them during the intermission, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing break without having to wait. The bar offers a selection of exceptional Burgundy wines, champagnes, gourmet sandwiches, snacks, as well as various organic and fair-trade hot drinks. The full menu is available online.

If you would like to have dinner before or after the performance, several restaurants are located nearby. These include Brasserie La Bourgogne (20 Place de la République, 21000 Dijon), Le Bureau (2 Place de la République, 21000 Dijon), and Le Lieu Dit (5 Rue Parmentier, 21000 Dijon).
