Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker

Few works are as closely associated with Christmas and Epiphany as Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music for the ballet The Nutcracker. In this concert, conductor Christoph Koncz returns to Berwaldhallen to perform a suite based on Tchaikovsky's beloved music together with the Radio Symphony Orchestra. But first, Sergei Prokofiev's Symphony No. 1, nicknamed Classical, the contemporary composer Hannah Kendall's work The Spark Catchers, based on a poem about women who worked in a match factory in the 1880s. Additionally, a touch of summer in Hugo Alfvén's Midsommarvaka.
