Temper, charm, virtuosity and a healthy dose of comedy–the ballet version of the adventures of the noble knight of La Mancha captivates not only dance lovers, but also those who crave a story with a happy ending.
Based on the literary bestseller, the spectacle takes us to sunny Spain, where beautiful Kitri and enamored Basilio meet the stray knight and his squire. Don Quixote helps the young couple face adversities. As for us, looking at the crazy parade of absurd missteps, comedic dress-ups, chases, and faked deaths, we become certain that one can be useful, even with their head in the clouds. The steps of the knight-errant are insecure, but there is nothing insecure about the daring choreographies. The protagonists obviously have their dance show-offs, but group scenes have also been planned in a very spectacular way. We have great admiration for the ballet ensemble and for… the prop masters, whose work during the spectacle could impress even the most agile of dancers.
