September sees new seasons open around the globe. Many orchestras invite a star soloist to help kick off their season in style, others go for an epic work. The London Symphony Orchestra, for example, launches with Verdi's Requiem (conducted by Gianandrea Noseda), the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal is just as loud, opening with Carmina Burana.

Of the star soloists, Joshua Bell helps the Atlanta Symphony open its season, before dashing to the Buffalo Philharmonic a few days later. Yu
