A special event to mark World Opera Day on 25 October 2025, OperaVision streams live from South Korea, Daegu Opera’s production of Mozart’s masterpiece as part of its Global Young Artist Projects.
Le nozze di Figaro, filled with love and jealousy, power and class conflict, is a window on the complexities of human hopes and desires through Mozart’s genius music. For World Opera Day, Daegu Opera offers a positive vision of the future of opera on a global stage. The production features emerging artists under the age of 35 from seven countries: South Korea, United States, Canada, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Italy and Spain. Selected through a competitive audition process, these artists have gathered in Daegu, transcending language and cultural boundaries to unite through the language of Mozart. Each performer stands at a pivotal moment in their artistic journey, and this stage offers a glimpse into their brightest potential. This is not just a performance of a well-known classic, but a rare opportunity to witness live the universality of opera - alive and kicking all over the world, and in good hands for the future.
