Don Quixote, one of Marius Petipa's most popular classics, is packed with sunny, exciting dances that promise to make you smile. Set in Spain, the ballet has been loved for its breadth of virtuoso dancing including Seguidille's cheerful dance, Toredors' stylish dance, passionate Romani dance, beautiful classical dance by Dyrads, and the famously bravura Act III pas de deux.

The Tokyo Ballet's Don Quixote was produced and choreographed by legendary dancer Vladimir Vasiliev, known as the "God of the Dance", after Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky. Vasiliev's version is an elaborate fusion of tradition of The Bolshoi Ballet and modernity.

The Tokyo Ballet revives the masterpiece for the first time in three years, with six pairs in the lead roles. It will be the last time for Principal Guest Artist Mizuka Ueno to dance as Kitri, one of her iconic roles, in the full length. First Soloist Akimi Denda and Soloist Eriko Nakajima will make their role debuts as Kitri, and Soloist Haruo Niyama as Basile. Guest Artist Kimin Kim, Principal Dancer of the Mariinsky Ballet will join the Company to dance as Basile with Mizuka Ueno on Wednesday 19 November, and Akimi Denda on Friday 21 November. Don't miss out!
