Saxophonist Raphaël Imbert celebrates the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane's birth with a unique concert exploring his deep connection to two legendary musical figures: Johann Sebastian Bach and Steve Reich. Inspired by Bach's spiritual power as much as by his contrapuntal improvisational technique, Coltrane's hypnotic compositions influenced the young Steve Reich, who in turn synthesized Bach's counterpoint with Coltrane's mystical sonic layers.
